ENGLISH

​Our school values the development of sound English skills. To that end, we have completed a whole school English Curriculum Planner so students receive explicit teaching in reading, spelling and writing. The English curriculum (what will be taught and when) was developed within the Pyrenees Cluster and means that every cluster school is teaching the same English unit each week, allowing for improved planning and content knowledge for the teachers, and more explicit teaching and practice time for the students.

The whole school English planner ensures consistency across the school and up-to-date Victorian Curriculum content, yet allows individual needs to be addressed. We address these with a Cluster assessment system which helps us isolate areas of need and develop Individual Learning Plans to help students continue to grow.
